Accessibility Statement
Effective April 12, 2026
1. Our Commitment
Wicked Smart HQ is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to the tools that help manage their household, and we are continually working to improve the accessibility of our Service.
2. Standards
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target standard. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is an internationally recognized set of guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that defines how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
3. What We Do
We implement the following practices to ensure accessibility across the Wicked Smart HQ platform:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements and document structure to ensure that content is logically organized and understandable by assistive technologies.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Users can navigate the entire application without a mouse.
- Screen reader support: We design and develop with screen readers in mind, ensuring that all meaningful content and interactive elements are properly announced.
- Color contrast: We maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and user interface components, meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements to help keyboard users track their position on the page.
- Alternative text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are appropriately hidden from assistive technologies.
- ARIA roles and attributes: We use Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) roles, states, and properties where native HTML semantics are insufficient to convey the purpose and state of interactive components.
- Reduced motion: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion operating system setting. When this preference is enabled, animations and transitions are minimized or disabled entirely.
- Touch targets: Interactive elements are sized to a minimum of 44 by 44 pixels to ensure they are easily tappable on touch devices and accessible to users with motor impairments.
4. Testing
We employ a combination of automated and manual testing to verify the accessibility of our platform:
- Automated testing: We use axe-core in our continuous integration pipeline to catch accessibility issues during development.
- Linting: eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y is configured in strict mode across our codebase to enforce accessibility best practices at the code level.
- Screen reader testing: We perform manual testing with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) to verify real-world screen reader compatibility.
- Lighthouse audits: We run Lighthouse accessibility audits regularly and target a score of 90 or higher.
5. Known Limitations
We are continuously improving the accessibility of Wicked Smart HQ. Despite our best efforts, some areas may not yet fully meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining issues. No known significant accessibility issues exist at launch.
If you discover an accessibility barrier that is not listed here, please let us know so we can address it.
6. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Wicked Smart HQ. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at hello@wickedsmarthq.com. When reporting an issue, please include:
- The URL of the page where you encountered the issue.
- A description of the accessibility problem you experienced.
- The assistive technology you were using (e.g., screen reader name and version, browser, operating system).
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five (5) business days and to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.
7. Enforcement and Legal Standards
This accessibility statement is guided by the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA), as applicable. We are committed to meeting our obligations under these and other accessibility regulations to ensure that our platform is available and usable for all individuals.
We regularly review our accessibility practices and update this statement to reflect our current compliance status and any changes in applicable standards or regulations.
